Edwin Haan and Diane Overwater
'When we step out of the door, we walk straight into the forest,' Edwin and his wife Diane Overwater tell us enthusiastically. They live on the outskirts of Lelystad, with the Oostvaardersplassen as their backyard. Diane: 'I never felt the need to move. Yes, we talked about living close to the beach once in a while, but the space in Flevoland wins out.'

Hendrik and Sven Hagedoorn Weerstand
When the ten most beautiful, best and most enjoyable cycling routes through Flevoland were announced, and the Rondoostpolder route ran right past their home in Urk, the decision to cycle the round once for themselves was quickly made. The route contains a lot of familiar territory for Urkers Hendrik and Sven Hagedoorn Weerstand, but also surprising stretches that I they didn't know yet.

Ben Helmink and Jan Steffens
One of the most popular cycling routes in Flevoland is the 93-kilometre Eilandhoppen route. Thanks to striking passages along Urk, Oud-Kraggenburg, the Waterloopbos and Schokland, this is a route with a lot of variation in the landscape. Emmeloorders Ben Helmink and Jan Steffens cycled the circuit on a beautiful, warm summer day together with several members of the Emmeloord cycling club.

Lydia and Geert Putter
Oostvaardersplassen is not only a beautiful nature reserve for plants and animals, mother Lydia and son Geert Putter from Lelystad also enjoy this unique piece of the Netherlands. On the Gassen langs de Plassen cycling route, however, they do so at full speed, although of course you can also accelerate a little less...

Arjan and Gerdiene Westerink
Arjan and Gerdiene go on a cycling trip from Dronten almost every weekend - usually on Sunday mornings. So after the Top 10 cycling routes in Flevoland came online, they were among the first to put on their cycling shoes to explore the Batavians route.

Richard Batelaan
From Zeewolde, the Keren langs de Meren cycle route is easy to pick up. And so from there, Richard Batelaan decided to put on his cycling shoes. It became a ride full of discoveries, alternating fast tempo sections with passages that the average cyclist in Flevoland does not expect. "Nice to cycle some different paths for once," he said.

André Deunhouwer
As founder of platform MTB Challenge and with twenty thousand followers on YouTube, André Deunhouwer is an authority on mountain biking in the Netherlands. His goal: to test all the scarcely 250 MTB routes in the Netherlands. The routes in Flevoland surprised him positively. "What I like is the ingenuity of the route crews that you see in the routes. They have pulled together cool routes that are definitely worth a day trip."
